What is Your Destiny?

Many of us dream of being an entrepreneur, to have and run our own business, to have greater control of our lives and answer only to ourselves.

Our ancestors lived that dream and it wasn’t always their dream.  They lived it out of necessity.  Then along came the industrial revolution and people had more choices.  Many chose to live through the dreams of others by working for a boss and for some it was good because they did not like the responsibility of having to make all of the decisions.

Now, fast forward to 2012 and people again are faced with hard decisions.  Do we continue to work for someone else, not happy with what we are doing?  Or do we branch out on our own and live our own buried dreams?

A small percentage of us will choose to take the road less traveled, begin to live our passion, regaining control of our lives and being happier in the process.  We will be able to do that because systems have been put in place and scaffolding has been erected in 2011 to get us through the difficult initial stages of being our own boss.

As I may have mentioned previously, life is too short to be doing work that does not energize us.

When I worked for the State of Connecticut, I was the payroll supervisor.  I had observed many employees who were just going through the motions of working everyday, living for the weekends and the day when they could retire to start living again on their own terms.

Unfortunately, for many that day never comes or if it does come we are so beaten down by years of uninspiring work that retirement just doesn’t hold the mystic it did in our youth.

With a little effort we can begin living our dream before we retire by spending just a few hours each day working in our passion.

Many people struggle with that phrase, “working in our passion” because they feel they are passionless, thanks to the many years of working only to pay the bills that have gotten out of control.

In the near future I will give some ideas about how you can uncover your passion and start fulfilling your destiny.
