How to Make Money Doing What You Love

I just read an interesting (humorous) article titled “Atheists offer to rescue Christians’ pets after judgment day”.

It stated that an atheist group has volunteered to take care of Christians’ pets when they are called to heaven this Saturday (May 21st).  This is a very enterprising atheist group, in my opinion.

They set up a ten-year contract to take care of your pet when you are called to heaven on judgment day, which a Christian group is saying will be this Saturday.  So if it doesn’t happen Saturday your pets will still be looked after if it happens on 12-21-12 or any time within the next ten years.

The group is offering to do this for only $135 for your first pet and $20 for each additional pet.  Now who would pay $135 for such a service?  At least that was my thought.  Well, it turns out that so far they have 259 clients, which works out to be at least $34,965.

This just goes to show you that you can “sell ice to Eskimos”.  In my case it took on another meaning.  I help people monetize their passion (or something they love doing) by using the power of the Internet.  I often hear prospects say, no one will spend money to learn more about what I love doing.  It will never work.

Think again.  Look at the above example and the $34,965+ that this group has already made.  Then consider again the possibility of making some extra spending money doing something you love.

As of June 30, 2010 there were almost 2 Billion people using the Internet out of a total world population of almost 6.9 Billion people.  Do you think that just maybe you can find a couple hundred people that will want to learn more about what you love to do?

I use the word “passion” to describe what one loves to do because it is easier for me.  When you work in your passion, your excitement comes through in your writing or talking about it to others, i.e. when you share it with others.

When you work in your passion in establishing an Internet business, you will tend to stick to it even through the challenging startup process.  There will be a lot of challenges for 95% of the population.

Most businesses fail because the owners do not stick with it long enough to make it work.  Most businesses fail because the owners do not follow through on the parts that they are not good at and it is hard for them to force themselves to learn how or to just do it, if they already know how.

This is where Flawless Living and the Happeneurship program comes in.  We scaffold you through the parts that are not aligned with what you love or enjoy doing so you can concentrate on the parts that you do love doing, your passion.

So, yes, you can share what you are passionate about with the rest of the world and make some extra spending money doing it.

    Gary,

Great point. Most people don’t see the forest for the trees. Every situation comes with equal parts challenge and opportunity. Seeing with “new” eyes is essential in a dynamic marketplace.
