Can You Make Money Living in Your Passion?

In my blog post on March 20, 2011 I talked about Finding Your Destiny and at the end I said:

“In the near future I will give some ideas about how you can uncover your passion and start fulfilling your destiny.”

I waited until now because I had purchased a book by Brendon Burchard titled The Millionaire Messenger and wanted to read it first.

Why is discovering and then working in your passion so important?  I think the world’s richest man put it very well when he said:

“The one piece of advice I can give you is, do what turns
you on.  Do something that if you had all the money in the world,
you’d still be doing it.  You’ve got to have a reason to
jump out of bed in the morning.”

Your reason for jumping out of bed in the morning when you don’t have to is your passion.  We are each on this earth for a reason and that is to share with others that which excites us.

If you have been following the world of Internet Marketers, you will have noticed that they are talking more and more about working in your passion.

Unfortunately, for most of us, we haven’t a clue what our passion is.  So here are some ideas to think about.

First, do not first think about whether or not you can make money sharing your passion with others.  That is secondary.  So, ask yourself – “If I took a two-week vacation and spent the first week doing all sorts of things that I believed I wanted to do and then just relaxed on the 7^th day, what would I do with my time during the second week assuming that I had all the money I wanted such that money was not an issue?”

Ask yourself, “What am I knowledgeable about.”  In most cases what you know, you learned because it interested you.  Thinking about this could lead to one of your passions.

Make a list of what you consider your knowledge base.  Add to that list the things you would do if money was not an issue.  Now, look at your list and ask yourself, “If I knew I was going to die in 7 days, which of these items would I want to do first?”

Remember, do not think about how you can make money doing this.  You have all the money you could possibly want, and do not ask why would anyone else be interested in this.  You will see later why I say this.

You may just find that it is liberating to work in your passion without any concerns for making money with it or having others interested in what you love doing.  However, when you position your passion using the Internet you may just find that a lot of other people are interested in what you are doing and that they are willing to pay for your knowledge.
